Salesforce Solution Engineer

Job Description

The Salesforce Solutions Engineer will be an expert at understanding our client’s systems and leveraging Salesforce’s programmatic features and functionality to deliver solutions. The Salesforce Solutions Engineer will enjoy teaching clients about how to use, leverage, and expand, their use of Salesforce, as well as understand when to use declarative over programmatic solutions. Ideal candidates will be a self-starter with: exceptional communication skills, the ability to prioritize and focus on individual tasks, and manage time efficiently while staying organized in a fast-paced environment.


This position has the ability to be 100% REMOTE!


Solutions Engineer Responsibilities Include

  • Consults with key client stakeholders to analyze company processes, develop and implement solutions for specific business needs using declarative features.

  • Know the feature differences between Salesforce editions

  • Knowledge of Sales and Service Cloud features and functionality.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce’s programmatic features and how to combine them with declarative features to best prepare the client for self-maintenance (i.e. Custom Metadata, Custom Settings, Custom Lists), Invocable Apex, Flow, Platform Events

  • Strong understanding of building various types of Flows (Auto launched, Screen, Record Trigger, Platform), their limits, and extensions via the AppExchange and UnofficialSF.

  • Serve as the primary consultant on 2-3 concurrent projects as well maintaining a stable of Managed Services clients.

  • Responsible for pre-sales scoping,  discovery, solutioning, implementation, user training, and documentation.

  • The ability to guide the client with best practices when it comes to restrictions around the declarative and/or programmatic solutions and optimizing features.

  • Collaborate with other Solution Engineers and the Technical Architect to provide optimization and best practices to clients across Salesforce clouds/features.

  • Be able to articulate when to use standard vs custom vs an App, the pros and cons of each path, and when to recommend standard functionality vs a custom build vs an App from the AppExchange.

  • Maintain an efficient response time to client communications.

  • Present possible declarative solutions to clients during customer calls.

  • Architect and design declarative solutions with or without programmatic features.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in managing customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in maintaining project timelines.

  • Communicate with clients and project team members.

  • Stays abreast of leading industry trends and Salesforce best practices; builds and maintains subject matter expertise on new releases and enhancements that may benefit a client.

  • Meets or exceeds specific weekly, quarterly, and annual performance goals associated with the position

  • Participation in various technology pilots to enhance Peergenics and customer processes.


To be successful, the Solutions Engineer must have hands-on experience in several features/cloud implementations on the Salesforce platform as well as:


  • Familiarity with Experience (aka Communities) is beneficial

  • Familiarity with middleware tools is beneficial (i.e. Zapier, Workato, Boomi, etc)

  • Advanced Flow experience is beneficial

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • A history of working in Professional Services/Consulting is preferred.

  • Proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of individuals (i.e., customers, peers, and management) and in a team environment
